Scotland's winter mountains offer a unique and challenging arena for a lifetimes worth of adventures. This course is designed to give you a solid foundation in the essential skills to be safe in the wide variety of conditions you will typically experience.
Location
Winter walking takes place in every corner of the Scottish hills. We suggest basing this course around Fort William & Glencoe on the West Coast. This gives us access to Ben Nevis, Aonach Mor and Glencoe which provide us with plenty of classic Munros and reliable snow conditions. We also run courses in the Cairngorms and Torridon.
Previous experience
This course is ideal for regular summer hill walkers. You don't need any previous experience in climbing or winter conditions. Winter walking is a physically demanding activity and you should ensure you are reasonably hill fit prior to attending this course.
Dates
We can happily run this course on any dates from the 1st January through to early April. Courses are usually between two and five days in length.
Price
£250 per day plus £20 per additional person up to a maximum ratio of 1:6
