Team of four avalanched from exit slopes of Pinnacle Ridge (II)
Slab avalanche on 30 degree slope
Two carried over full height of crag (230m) with serious injuries
Two managed to exit the avalanche with minor injuries

Central Gully, Great End

Nethermost Gully Cornice Collapse

18/2/1995

Climbing party of two hit by cornice collapse possibly caused by another party
Second climber was swept from stance dragging leader from plateau where they had already topped out to the right of the main cornice
Leader was partially buried, severe concussion & crampons lacerations to knee and calf
Second suffered a smashed left tibia & ankle, double break in left fibia, unspecified break to right leg & 2 broken ribs
Elderly walker also swept down in run out, shocked but uninjured
